They both have similar core functionality but each has some things that the other does not have or does something better than the other. Both of them can use G'MIC. Haven't used G'MIC yet, which is why I'm here, but I lately have been using Medibang Paint for more creative things and gimp mostly for technical and editing. Do I need a "shell". If, so, I have no idea how to set that up. I have a 64 bit laptop, Windows 10, Gimp 2.
